I’m a fully trained personal and executive coach with over 25 years’ experience working for global, billion dollar software and telecoms companies. I am also a wheelchair user.
I provide consultancy for the Flying Disabled campaign (regularly featured on BBC radio and TV) to enable passengers who are wheelchair users to fly with dignity and safety. I also work alongside Gearup TV and the UK Chapter of Women In Aviation to promote inclusion, diversity and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) in business and aviation. I was privileged to speak at the Fawcett Society Annual Conference in 2018 about being a female leader in STEM for 20 years. I was also named in the Daily Mail, Britain’s 50 most remarkable women in 2018.
I want businesses to recognise the value in having a diverse workforce which reflects the customers being served and the society in which we all live. And that disabled people are paying customers who deserve and expect a high-quality experience when buying goods and services. I have decades of lived experience, direct corporate management experience and a Level 2 Certificate in Inclusion and Diversity to ensure I am current.
Also I’m a Logical Operations Modern Classroom Certified Trainer (MCCT®).
I am very active in working towards accessible aviation and ensuring disabled passengers can travel with safety and dignity. Through my consultancy work, I am committed to making aviation open to all, ensuring the highest customer safety, enjoyable customer experiences and also commercially appealing for the airlines.
Being a wheelchair user and having previously lived with depression as a teenager and adult has given me:
the drive for disability to be normalised in business and outside the office
the tenacity and resilience required to succeed in a demanding workplace
enhanced communication abilities leading to trust and stronger relationships
compassion towards myself, colleagues, customers, everyone
a passion for continuous self-development and curiosity
an ability to use humour to get important messages across
My clients (who are both disabled and non-disabled) often recommend me to other organisations to consult and speak at events, and describe me as friendly, approachable and empathetic, with a natural ability to build productive relationships. I want my clients to have absolutely the best learning experience possible.
